Craft fair on my Mind

Okay I know I do this every year but I think I am almost mentally ready to start getting ready for a few craft fairs. So far I am looking at two in October and hopefully I can do at least two more before Christmas. Although I haven't started builidng up a serious stock I did at least do this one clipboard and notepad set over the weekend. Only 99 more projects to go, lol. I need my girl Tiffany to stay on me for inspiration, she is a whiz at putting on magnificent craft fair displays.

St. Ignatius Holiday Bazzar

This year i attempted to do a couple of craft fairs. I am not a pro at it like Tiffany http://thejoyinsideofme.blogspot.com/ , but she has inspired me to try to go bigger and better each year. Since this was a kid centered and school related event I tried to keep the items relevant. I made about $200 and my sister gifted the table fee so it was a great day. My family came out to support me and my nephews even got their pictures take with Santa. all in all it was a great day. My niece (not pictured) is going to help me get ready for the African-American Marketplace in February - I am excited.

Take that Procrastination!

I have been trying to do a craft fair for a while, but I tend to wait until the last minute to begin working on my projects, running out of time, staying up for 24 hours straight and then crumbling up in the middle of the floor tired and disappointed with myself in tears, but not this time! I signed up for a craft fair on May 7 and I am really excited because I am determined to have a good day. I have already started working on my projects and I will begin sharing them with your over the next couple of weeks. So first up are my decorated coasters. I bought the coasters from Papertrey ink and since they are a little thin I glued two of them together, decorated them and added a beaded chain to hang them from. I love my digital stamp boxing girl from Whimsie Doodles. I feel like I am really getting the hang of hand coloring images and I like using different mediums. On my boxing girl I used color pencils, watercolor pencils and markers. I made nine of these in different skin tones. For the other coaster I used real thread on the spool for a nice 3-d effect! I am in business baby, and feeling good!
